Friday Field Trip - Desert Rest Stops

Although we split our drive to Tempe, Arizona into two days, we didn't stop much along the way for photos. And most of the "good" spots in places where it was impossible to stop. Maybe next time...

These photos are breath-taking. Thanks for sharing. As crowded as our cities and towns are getting, it's hard to remember there is open land left.

Wow! love these pics. Makes one feel so small. Your lucky to take such drives. So refreshing to see mountains like these again. Living in Florida, everything is so flat!

Mason - I think it's only 'open' because it's inhospitable. Which, IMHO is a good thing, because when people come in, they try to get nature to conform to their rules, and it's often not for the best.

Jacqueline-after 30 years in Florida, we were definitely ready for some 'not flat' spaces!
