Friday Field Trip--From our Windows

Last week, our Field Trip was to the mailbox. This week, we're staying even closer to home. Thanks to the Hubster, we've got some halfway decent shots of the local wildlife. Most were taken right through our windows. He's having a ball, especially watching the hummingbirds every evening.

Broad-tail hummingbirds

Mule deer

Golden Mantled Ground Squirrel

Red Fox

Abert's squirrel

Fox squirrel

Evening grosbeaks

Mason, Anabelle, Joanne -
Glad you enjoyed the pictures. Someday I'll get Jason to come up here with his fancy gear and we'll see what he can do.

Wow! Now that's getting up close and personal with nature!

Cindy, Hubster's waiting for the bears too!

Lou, Anita & Debra - thanks.

And Hubster has informed me I'd mislabeled the fox squirrel as a pine squirrel (they both live here). I've fixed it. But, unlike the Hubster, I'm less concerned with knowing the exact species name of all the critters. After all, didn't I call one of my books, "What's in a Name?"

Great photos. I'm so glad you do photo Fridays.

Carol - I'm always looking for new photos -- hope some of you will share. You don't have to go far. Remember, what's everyday for you might be exotic for someone else. Or just a great diversion.

Gorgeous photos. Those evening grossbeaks look tropical.

That's what I thought, TerryS -- but I don't think their range takes them into the south.

Fantastic photos. The hummingbirds are so amazingly clear and colorful. Love the mule deer's expression and I've never seen an Abert squirrel before. I'm so glad I stopped by! :)

My hummers are back at the feeder! I just love those little guys.

I love these photos, Terry!

Cleo, Elizabeth. Hummers are a treat to watch, aren't they! And Cleo-I'm learning lots of new wildlife. Hubster cannot let anything go unidentified. He just bought a plant book for all the new plants we're seeing.
