Happy Halloween, everyone.
My son's never gone for the traditional triangle eyes and jagged mouth kind of pumpkin. When he was younger, he did Hobbes. This year, he sent a picture of "Pumpkin #1, with promises of "Pumpkin #2" to follow. As soon as I have it, I'll add it to the post, so check back.Daughter did this one
Meanwhile, don't eat too much candy. Hubby bought our supply this year, and while it's chocolate, most of it has peanuts, which is a good thing for me. I don't like peanuts, so I'll be able to keep my hands out of the bowl.
And... as a follow up to yesterday's Customer Service post, today, I look at the sidebar and what do I see? Amazon, in all its wisdom, changed the RIGHT price to the WRONG price, so now they have both books listed at $16.99. Try Barnes & Noble or the Publisher until you see them listed at the correct price (which should be $9.99, unless they have it on sale) here. It's a tough enough business without being sabotaged by the vendors.
Wow - he's good! I get candy I don't like. Otherwise, I'm in trouble!
ReplyDeleteI used to be one of those terrible moms who handed out sugarless gum and raisins. But now that hubby buys the candy, we've moved up. At least this year, he only bought one huge Costco bag. Our neighborhood doesn't usually get all that many kids, and the leftovers can be killer.
ReplyDeleteWow, Terry, you're right. He IS great at the pumpkin carving! I love the bear.
ReplyDeleteHe was a HUGE Calvin & Hobbes fan in high school -- and it carried over to a lot of his creative outlets. I had no idea what the heck he was doing until he finished and lit it up. And a little trick-or-treater came by later and said, "Look, Mommy. Hobbes." So his talents were recognized.
ReplyDeleteWhat a good job! My pumpkins always look terrible.
ReplyDeleteReally cute pumpkins. What a fun time of year.
ReplyDeleteThose are great. I love the spider web one.
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to leave a quick note to
ReplyDeletelet your son know how much we enjoyed his pumpkin carvings. My Spiderman
fan grandson is with me today and he
likes the spider & web, "just like
Spidey!" Your daughter did a good
job, also!

those are spectacular pumpkins. My guy looks evil according to my husband. Pumpkin is sitting by our front step and soon I will light a candle inside his fat belly to make him look good. We don't get many kids. Our neighbourhood has older homes and not many little ones live close by. My husband and I eat the left over chocolate bars or freeze them for later. Have a fun night, froggies.
ReplyDeleteBack in the day when our kids were home, I'd save leftover candy and use it as party favor stuff for my son's birthday 2 weeks later.
ReplyDeleteDaughter's is great also. Your kids must have spent hours on this. Did you get them special carving knives? Jean
ReplyDeleteJean, when they were younger and lived at home, we had a special pumpkin carving kit I found at the grocery store -- it amounted to a short (about 2 inches) serrated blade, and it was very easy to work on the pumpkin that way.
ReplyDeleteNow that they're grown and gone, I have no idea what they use for their carving.
